The southernmost point in the United States sits between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the only places where you can fish both bodies of water. Key West is a super friendly and fun town with world class restaurants and lodging. The fishing is world class as well, there really is no bad time to visit. We may anchor up on a reef and chum for yellow tail snapper, or drift the deep channels that surround Key West for grouper and grey snapper. No matter if you are a first timer or experienced angler, the Conch Republic and Reel Thang Charters has something for you.
The Florida Keys has the only living coral reef system in the continental United States. It is the third largest barrier reef system in the world. This provides protection and habitat for many species of fish from tiny baitfish like ballyhoo to large predators that feed on them. Inside the main reef are numerous patch reefs which are smaller more isolated ecosystem's of there own, Not only are they good for fishing but provide great snorkeling. We supply mask's and fins upon request for anybody who wants to split there time up between fishing and taking advantage of some world class snorkeling. Excellent choice if you have any non fisherman in your group. This makes for a true Key West experience not to mention you can knock two things off your bucket list in one day!
Saltwater fishing regulations in Monroe County are a little different than the rest of the Keys. This is so because anglers can fish both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, each having it's own set of rules, size limits and bag limits. Monroe County State waters extend out to 3 miles on the ocean side and 9 miles on the Gulf side, all area's are regulated by either State or Florida or South Atlantic Federal Regulations. Basically what all this means is any legal fish we catch and you would like to take it to one of our great restaurants and have them cook it for you or take them home and cook it yourself, we will clean it for you at no extra charge.
